LCD vs LED Difference & Which video wall is more suitable?

There are two main types of video walls in the market today: LCD and LED. So, what’s the difference between the two, and which one is more suitable for your needs?

Some major Differences between LED and LCD Video Walls

LED video walls are composed of thousands of tiny LEDs that emit light. LCD video walls are composed of Liquid Crystal Displays, which use a backlight to illuminate the images on the screen.

Each technology has its own advantages and disadvantages. LED video walls are often brighter and have a wider viewing angle than LCD video walls. However, they can also be more expensive, and the individual LEDs can create a “pixelated” look if they are not spaced closely enough together.

LCD video walls tend to have a higher resolution than LED video walls, and they can be cheaper to produce. However, they can also suffer from “ghosting” artifacts if the backlight is not uniformly diffused.

In general, LED video walls are better suited for applications where brightness and wide viewing angles are more important than resolution, such as outdoor advertising, weather update displays or stadium displays. LCD video walls are better suited for applications where resolution is more important, such as indoor corporate presentations, surveillance command central room or retail signage.

How to choose the right one?

There are many factors to consider when deciding which type of video wall is right for your business. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. What is your budget? LCD and LED video walls both have a wide range of prices, so it’s important to know how much you’re willing to spend.
  2. What is the purpose of the video wall? If you’re only going to use it for occasional presentations or events, an LCD video wall may be sufficient. However, if you plan on using it for 24/7 advertising or security purposes, an LED video wall will be more durable and reliable.
  3. What is the size of the space you’re working with? This will determine the number of screens you’ll need and the overall dimensions of the video wall. Displays are available in all size ranging from 32” to 86” suitable to your requirement.
  4. What is the viewing distance? If people will be standing close to the video wall, an LED display may be better suited since it doesn’t produce as much glare as an LCD screen.
  5. What other features do you need? Some LCD and LED video walls come with built-in speakers, while others offer touch capabilities. Consider what else you might need from your video wall before making a
    decision.

    Conclusion

There you have it! The key differences between LCD and LED video walls. As you can see, each technology has its own advantages and disadvantages. So, which type of video wall is more suitable for your needs? It really depends on what you’re looking for in LCD wall panels. If you need something with great image quality and brightness, then an LED video wall is probably your best bet. However, if you’re working with a tight budget, then an LCD video wall might be a better option for you.
